Every zebra is unique – no two patterns are the same. No matter what and why you store with us, you too are unique. We want to offer a self-storage service tailored to your needs for a long-lasting positive experience.
Our goal
As a company run by co-owners, we maintain a strong customer focus and offer our customers the best possible service and a high-quality range of storage products. In addition to renting delivery vans and selling high-quality packaging materials, Zebrabox also offers other services such as accepting deliveries for business customers. We currently have 15 locations: Basel, Bern, Horgen, Ittigen, Lausanne, Bussigny, Neuchâtel, Schlieren, Pfäffikon SZ, Spreitenbach, Therwil, St. Gallen, Villeneuve, Winterthur and Zurich. More locations are in the pipeline, with at least three new sites opening in 2023.

Being customer-focused is always our top priority – we do everything we can to make the process as straightforward as possible for you. We treat all customers equally and try to make the impossible possible. That’s why our motto is "smart storage".
Why the name Zebrabox?
Apart from being very friendly animals that (almost) everyone likes, zebras all have black and white stripes and, just like human fingerprints, no two zebra patterns are exactly the same. The name Zebrabox therefore represents the diversity of our customers: they all have different reasons and requirements, but they have something in common – they need a place to camp. Zebrabox offers private customers and businesses customised storage solutions and other additional services related to storage.
Our history
The company was founded in 2003 by Christian Schmutz with the support of private entrepreneurs. In 2008, Zebrabox took on the traditional Transmi Ministorage AG in Zurich-Oerlikon, which was founded in 1979. Zebrabox therefore became the longest active self-storage company in continental Europe. From then on, we grew steadily and regularly expanded our branch network. With over 6'000 active customers and a storage space of approx. 45'000 m2, we are the leading self-storage provider in Switzerland. As part of the internationalisation of Zebrabox, a franchise partnership was initiated in the Spanish market in summer 2023.

Zebrabox is a proud founding member of 3SA – Swiss Self-Storage Association. 3SA is the Swiss member of FEDESSA (Federation of European Self Storage Associations).
Members are selected according to strict criteria. Each member agrees to comply with a set of quality criteria in relation to the services they provide and the Code of Ethics as regards their customers. The latter provides assurance that you are dealing with experts who are committed to providing a high-quality service. We recognise and act in accordance with the Code of Quality and Ethics and the Performance Standard of this association.
